Week 5, Day 1

I wish you a beautiful week, love. Today it's so hot, so I am wearing a very light red / white polka dot dress. I completed it with a pair of shoes I know you love, these Diane Von Furstenberg red strappy sandals, and I surrounded it with jewelry that is very precious to me: My mom's pearl necklace and two ankle bracelets - the one with the black Swarovki crystals was custom-made for me as a gift from my mom, and Stellar made for me the one with the pearls. (Marina Vafiadou, thanxxx for the photos) xxM.

Week 4, Day 5

I will always cherish that day, I will always cherish that outfit (for the record: Underground bralet, Asos shorts, vintage faux-pearl necklace -oh, mommy-, Adidas sliders). Marina Vafiadou, thnxxx for the photos.

Week 4, Day 4

I love putting together different prints in the same outfit nowadays. And these camouflage bermuda shorts that my sweet Stellar gave me go perfectly, at least in my opinion at 6:30 in the morning, with this H&M horse-print top we picked together last summer. Then came the shoes, these Pierre Hardy candy-striped wedges I know you love, that actually repeat the top's color theme, embodied in a different pattern. I love you, have a perfect day -<3- (Marina Vafiadou, thanx for the photos xx).

Week 4, Day 2

Short post today, a lot of things that have to be done in so little time! I picked the top because it was one of the presents you brought me from New York - it could be the casual, customized t-shirt an imaginary jazz dancer would probably be wearing while rehearsing. I love the front, I love the back. The tie-dye skirt is ancient, her shape and length is very relevant though. I bought it many, many years ago from a boutique called Tube, very popular among university students. The espadrilles are from the same shop - I did the embroidery myself, I just wanted to create something on the plain canvas. And the other detail on the outfit, a detail that I find huge, are these peacock earrings from India from my friend Lito's jewelry boutique in Kolonaki. xxM (photos by Maria Athanasiadou)

Week 4, Day 1

Today I wanted to wear this Tucker for Target t-shirt, because 1. it's a gift from you, 2. I love the colors on it. I paired it with an Asos faux-leather skater shirt, my trusty Ou Est Fantomas? see-through belt, my Adidas sliders (no surprises there) and two necklaces, one by Katerina Psoma (the one with the pointy studs) and one from an open-market in Nigeria (the long skinny one), a gift from an old man that I woke up from his siesta in order to shop at his place. When he gave it to me, I said to myself, "I bought all these things and this cheap old bastard gives me this teeny-tiny piece of shit????". But it turned out to be a perfect necklace because it goes with almost everything! I have to hurry now because I have a lot of work today - I love you! xxM. (photos by Maria Athanasiadou)

Week 3, Day 5

The day is dedicated to music, inevitably, with Stavros's first trip to a live music festival coming up. So I wore my Amplified t-shirt dress with David Bowie's face on, Aladdin-Sane era and all that, that we both love. Now that I know you also love my Adidas sliders, I wore them again. And I finished it all off with two vintage silver necklaces that belonged to my mom. I hope that in the afternoon I will have enough time to post my festival look. xxM. (Maria Athanasiadou, thank you for the photos)

Week 3, Day 4

Today I know you're going to hate the shoes - but it's ok, because I love them! and Stavros loves them too. I wanted a pair of sliders, I found them in the Adidas kids collection (story of my life, me and a Japanese woman shoe-shopping in the kids department at Zara) and they're so comfy and cool and I am going to spend most of the summer wearing them. I paired them with this Levi's denim dress that I absolutely love and a skinny Ann Demeulemeester belt, a gift from my beloved Stellar, that goes with absolutely everything. Oh, and I finished it off with a pair of Fullah Sugah fuschia fringe earrings. Please, please, don't hate the shoes.. xxM.

Week 3, Day 3

Remember, a little while before you left, that I put on this Suite 9 slip dress and you dared me to pick some sexy shoes to go with it (and I wore my creepers instead)? Well, I found the sexy shoes today. I know you love them, you pick them often when you're in the mood to do my styling in the summertime. And I found the perfect bag to go with the outfit in the form of this much loved Vivienne Westwood bag - it is the first expensive purchase I made when I started working in the media. Actually, I had broken my foot and I was sitting at home, feeling like a prisoner, so I saw this bag in a magazine, I called Mohnblumchen, I asked darling Mrs. Katerina to save the bag for me, and I sent my sweet mommy with a taxi to bring it to me. This bag immediately fixed my mood back then. I love telling you these crazy stories! xxM.

Week 3, Day 2

I know you get angry when I wear flip flops instead of one of my beautiful (and many) pairs of shoes. Yet, it is so hard to carry around an almost 20-kilo boy with a fractured bone on his left foot, so excuse the shoes but I'm soooo tired. I matched my comfy footwear with a sundress I absolutely love and haven't worn for a long time, it is a gift of my beloved Stellar from a trip of hers to Australia. And I find the brooch from the LV Love collection matches perfectly with this sundress, and the cute ethnic necklace by Katerina Psoma simply stands out as a detail not perfectly matched with the rest of the look - I love doing that many times when I am putting my outfits together. Finally, I am carrying a Longchamp leather red bag that belonged to my sweet mommy. Lately, I love integrating pieces that belonged to her in my everyday looks. It's my way of remembering her, instead of wearing black. xxM.

Week 2, Day 5

So no post again yesterday, being on the watch and all - thank God, our son is well today. Yet it was a tough day, so today I needed superpowers. And I reached for my beloved Wonder Woman t-shirt, which I paired with a lovely pair of jeans bought long ago from my beloved Underground boutique (I had not fitted into those jeans for 6 years!). I love the dark blue denim, and I also love the tulip-shaped back pockets. I finished it all off with a pair of shoes I know you love, these strangely cute J.Lo sandals, and a pair of fringed blue-red earrings by Panos Apergis. And yes, today I feel super powerful! xxM.

Week 2, Day 3

No post yesterday, with the hospital and all - thank God, Stavros is fine. Today, I am very happy because after many years I can finally fit into these tailored boardshorts. And I can also wear my t-shirt cropped. So today I did both, and with a t-shirt I absolutely love, it's my souvenir from the historical Village Vanguard jazz club in NY (sometimes I wish I had lived to see John Coltrane play there). And I matched the outfit with a pair of sandals I know you adore, by Melissa + Jean Paul Gaultier, and a rather "minimal" tagari that belonged to my dear mommy. And the final touch was the white eyeliner, because you said you loved the way my eyes look when I am wearing it. xxM.

Week 2, Day 1

Athens feels like a jungle today with all this humidity and the almost dying sun. So I wrapped myself in a jungle of prints. I know you love this skirt, the print and the colors in it, and I love the way it looks against the almost-like-tapestry fabric on my Paco Gil wedges and the beauty of the colors, patterns and textures on my beloved Longchamp by Tracy Emin bag. So today I dressed myself in the mood that my city created for me - you know how I sometimes do that. Sometimes you look at me and you find out the "story" of my outfit all by yourself. I love that. xxM.

Week 1, Day 6

Sometimes I get very sentimental when I am putting together my outfits. That was also the case today, when I combined my Johnny Depp "Cry Baby" H&M tank top (we picked it up together last summer) and this amazing gold necklace that belonged to my mommy.

Week 1, Day 5

Today we went to the beach with little Chrysanthi and her parents. It was the first official swim for her, and the first swim of the season for the rest of us. I love my new Mitos bikini, I believe it will look fabulous on me by the time I come to Mykonos because my tan will actually be... will actually be. I paired it with a piece I also love, a strapless sarong skirt / dress my sweet mommy had made for me, and then the Pat Field canvas bag was so befitting to all this and then the Vivienne Westwood headscarf... Well, you've read a similar story on a previous post. xxxM.

Week 1, Day 4

Today I chose my outfit to tell you a story: It was back in 2007 that I interviewed Tommy Hilfiger for In Style magazine at the Grande Bretagne Hotel. And I was very flattered when he complemented on my clothes (Apostrophe shirt from my beloved Underground boutique in Kolonaki, Asos skirt), my bag (Balenciaga, you hate this bag), my shoes (Mellow Yellow, from my beloved Simple Caractere boutique) and my hair. Shortly after the interview, Freddie F took some crazy pictures of me with friend / "sister in law" / colleague Efi Alevizou. And here we are, seven years later: the outfit still looks perfect and the girl wearing it is finally back in shape (our son is now almost 5, but you know what they say - "better late than never"). I love telling you stories and I love hearing yours. xxM.

Week 1, Day 3

Today I just wanted to wear something you picked up for me, and I could not help but remember this second-hand dress (definitely dating from the original grunge era) from the Kilo Shop at Monastiraki, and the way you spotted it among the multitude of clothes and just handed it to me - and then the perfect way it fitted on me when I tried it on. I always enjoy these smart-shopping rides we take on the scooter, those rides that usually end with a panoramic view of the city and our endless conversations on our secret bench. I added one more flower in the form of this lovely Moschino pink daisy bag, plus a beautiful orchid (by the way, the Orchid Mother also says "hi"). xxM.

Week 1, Day 2

It all started while I was trying to think of the things that piss me off about you - and I remembered that baseball jersey of the Mets that I once picked up from New York, and the orange dye that came out on the white part after you washed it. The jersey was also warm enough for the chilly, wet day, but it was a little too short to wear as a dress. So I added that white Sarah Lawrence skirt that you bought for me at that outlet on a hot summer day, about two years ago, after our first swim together. And then I added these coral lace-ups that you also bought me, their bright color always makes me feel better. And then came the Vivienne Westwood scarf on the head, because I just thought that the outfit needed something street-smart. And then I stepped (pun intended) on the shoe color and the British designer (I also know you love Westwood, by the way, and that you were checking out that men's outfit online, for our wedding) and I added this spring coat that you and Stavros both love, picked up from the Giles for New Look collection once upon a time on Oxford Street. The outfit started with a trip, and then finished with a trip, and it also reminded me of how much I would love to revisit these two cities with you by my side. (Maria Athanasiadou, thank you for the photos).

Week 1, Day 1

So this is the first day you're gone and this is my first outfit post. I have a very busy day ahead of me, and I also have an interview with Blake Mycoskie. So it all had to be based on a pair of Toms (both comfortable and relevant) and I also wanted to wear my Christopher Kane gorilla t-shirt. And then I thought of the gorilla digital print against the floral print on this Tally Weir skirt we picked up together, and then the Mulberry Bayswater bag in leopard came almost naturally (as in "natural history") and then I thought of that fringe earring by Panos Apergis that you love (actually, you love both the earring and the designer)... To cut a long story short, I was thinking of you while putting together this outfit. Looks like this is going to happen A LOT. xxM.
